Why homelessness

Everyone needs
a safe place to live.

Duo Some Good raises funds for We Are Mobilise through Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge.

The figures Mobilise shares

122,000+

People experiencing homelessness in Australia.

37%

Of people experiencing homelessness are under 25.

94%

Are outside the visible picture of people sleeping rough.

Figures as presented by We Are Mobilise’s State of Homelessness page, checked 19 October 2026. The national estimate is based on the 2021 Census, not a new 2026 count. The figures describe homelessness more broadly than sleeping on the street.

Homelessness isn’t always visible.

Mobilise describes people staying temporarily with others, living in cars or in severely overcrowded housing. It identifies pressures including job loss, illness, domestic violence, rent increases and relationship breakdown.

There isn’t one story behind homelessness, and there isn’t one simple fix. That’s why this campaign supports an organisation working directly on housing outcomes.

What We Are Mobilise does

Mobilise works with charity partners to provide direct financial assistance for housing. Its model connects funding with people who need help getting into, or staying in, a home.

Nedd’s challenge. Our way to contribute.

In 2022, Nedd Brockmann ran from Perth to Sydney to raise money for Mobilise. He followed that with a 1,000-mile track challenge in 2024, inviting Australians to take on their own uncomfortable challenges.

I’m joining that spirit by giving my business advisory time for free and raising funds through my participant page. Duo Some Good is my way of contributing to that wider effort.
